Occupational therapy is a type of health care that helps to solve the problems that interfere with a person’s ability to do the things that are important to them – everyday things like:
Self-care - getting dressed, eating, moving around the house,
Being productive - going to work or school, participating in the community, and
Leisure activities - sports, gardening, social activities. (CAOT, 2024)
Pediatric Occupational therapists offer specialized assessment and interventions to address the unique challenges faced by children with diverse needs. Pediatric OT's work with families, doctors, allied health care professionals, schools, teachers and members of the child's care team to promote independence in daily living, improve sensory processing, fine motor, gross motor, and developmental challenges, emotional regulation needs, among many other areas of children's lives.

Please check our rates page for more in depth information on rates for services. Initial assessments are 1.5 hours at $225.00 and OT sessions are billed at $150.00 per hour.

Sessions are typically billed at $150.00 for 60 minutes with 45 minutes direct intervention time and 5 minutes for follow up with parents, 10 minutes for charting. See Rates page for more in depth breakdown.

This depends on many factors, however recommendations will be provided during your initial assessment and we'll work together to find a frequency that fits your child's needs. The Bearded OT currently offers weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly appointments.

This OT currently only works with children with Autism ages 6-19. The Bearded OT is not on the RASP list for services provided to children under the age of 6.

Yes. This OT has an few adult clients and is currently focusing on providing services for the pediatric populations ages 6-19 years old.

This OT currently works with children ages 6-19 and Adults 20 - 65+. For children under the age of 6 years old with other sources of funding outside of Autism Funding, please feel free to reach out and contact this OT for inquiries.

Yes. The cancellation fee is $75.00 if notice is not provided within 24 hours before your scheduled session.

Currently, Bearded OT - Occupational Therapy services does not have a clinic space. Provision of services are provided via in home visits, virtual therapy, or community visits.

Absolutely. OT’s work with families on a regular basis and many clients feel comfortable with having their parent in session with them. This OT normally leaves this up to families to decide on and as clients become more comfortable with the OT, usually parents will begin to taper out of sessions, however this is dependent on many factors.
Please note that this OT may discuss with families if he's noticing clients are shutting down in session or sessions aren't productive with parent involvement, we'll chat about how to move forward and this OT may suggest trialing some sessions independently to see how things go.

For home visits and virtual therapy, it's best if we can have a space dedicated to be quiet and away from distractions. This OT is aware that sometimes with family and home dynamics this isn't possible, however siblings are generally not generally part of therapy interventions.
